Biography

Mark Cubberley BVetMed Cert EM(IntMed) MRCVS Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Advanced Practitioner in Equine Medicine (Internal Medicine).

Mark graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1992 and since that time has worked in first opinion and referral practice throughout England and Northern Ireland. He achieved his Certificate in Equine Medicine (Internal Medicine) by examination in 2001 and was later appointed an examiner in this subject for 3 years by the RCVS. He has continued his interests in equine internal medicine throughout his career with a special interest in poor performance, cardiology and gastroenterology. This also includes winning two presentation awards from regional British Veterinary Association divisions on equine neurology and equine gastric ulcer syndrome. He is also an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Equine Medicine (Internal Medicine) which is achieved by a combination of post-graduate qualifications, continued studying, and experience.

Throughout his career he has worked with a wide range of horses from flat and national hunt horses, top class stud work, eventers, showjumpers, dressage horses and polo ponies. He has been a racecourse Veterinary Surgeon at a number of the leading racecourses in the United Kingdom and senior veterinary surgeon at numerous point-to-points. He has also attended a wide variety of events as veterinary surgeon including BE events, Guards Polo Club (Queens Cup), Polo in the Park (London), National and International endurance competitions and team chasing.

Outside of work, Mark’s interest and passion is also horses. He has ridden and competed from childhood. After graduation he trained and rode his own point-to-pointers and has continued riding since then including show jumping, hunter-trials, eventing and recently team-chasing.

Mark grew up in south Warwickshire and his family has lived in the small area of Gloucestershire, Southeast Worcestershire, and South Warwickshire for many hundreds of years- so a truly local business! For several generations Mark’s family has been heavily involved with horses.
